Welcome to paradise
Aloha from the Grand Waimea Hotel, an ultra-luxurious resort that caters to the very rich and famous. If you can afford to stay here, you can get just about anything- all courtesy of the ultra-efficient (and darn good looking) staff.

Who's in charge here
Vincent, the owner, built this hotel from the ground up. Jason, his right-hand man, grew up in Hawaii and rose from humble circumstance to take on this high-prestige job. He's shocked when Vincent introduces the new director of guest relations - Nicole, a rich girl whose father owns scads of hotels. Jason and Nicole used to work together and had a thing, but she inexplicably ran away and broke his heart. Waitress MJ, who grew up with Jason, is trying to trying to protect Jason from further heartbreak while running a clothing business on the side, while bartender Frankie is just trying to keep everything cool. And hunky lifeguard Gabriel is just trying to fend off sex-starved guests.

Who's checking in
This week, the Grand Waimea plays host to Mrs. Farrell, a demanding rich bitch, and her neglected jailbait daughter, Veronica. Also checking in is Carrie Lane, a tennis star known as much for her off-the-court partying as for her on-the-court prowess. There's also an annoyingly grabby frat boy who's visiting Chris, who abandoned a high-pressure job in Chicago to run an adventure travel company that serves the hotel. Finally, we've got a demanding relaxation guru who makes sure no one around him is relaxed.

Guest services
Our guru is stressed out because his Lamborghini is trapped at LAX and he really needs to take it out for a spin so he can let the creative juices flow. Nicole's first task is to procure a substitute car, without letting him know the real car is still stateside. She turns to Frankie for help - she tracked down the right car, but it's the wrong color. Can his cousin, who runs an auto-body shop, take care of it? Said cousin says no, but Nicole convinces him to bet his skills against her in a craps game. She wins the game and Frankie's respect.

Playing games
Jason is in charge of babysitting the tennis star while she's at the hotel. He's reluctant at first, but he warms to the idea. Her pretty female publicist engineers for Jason and Carrie to have dinner alone together, and Jason and Carrie end up near-naked in the pool after hours. A shot of their snuggling appears in the gossip columns. Neither Nicole nor Vincent is amused.

Hands off
Gabriel is trying to avoid the attentions of Veronica, who's gorgeous but only 15. Meanwhile, Nicole is trying to deal with Drunken Fratboy, who is getting a little too personal. MJ comes to her rescue, but she makes it clear she doesn't trust Nicole. She is interested in Chris, but is put off when a woman gets very familiar with him. While her mom ignores Veronica in favor of some guy she met by the pool, Veronica sneaks over to Gabriel's house. She flings herself at him, but he turns her down. Spurned, she tells her mom that Gabriel lured her to his place and took advantage of her. Mommy Dearest wants Gabriel arrested, and threatens to sue the hotel. Jason is horrified that Vincent doesn't take Gabriel's side.

Revelations
Jason tries to apologize to Carrie for the paparazzi faux pas, but finds her in an intimate situation with her publicist. It seems rumors had been starting to fly, so the women used Jason as a sacrificial straight guy. (Apparently cereal companies don't mind their spokeswoman being a drunken skank, as long as she's a straight drunken skank.) Jason chases down a photographer who gets a shot of a girl-on-girl lip lock, all for the good of the hotel. Nicole figures out what's really going on with Veronica - she, too, was a neglected rich girl, and she can tell Veronica is doing this for attention. She convinces Veronica to tell the truth, and Gabriel is cleared. MJ runs into Chris again, who tells him the attractive woman she saw him with is his sister-in-law. Nicole tells Jason that her snobby dad threatened to fire him, and destroy everything he's worked for, if she didn't give him up. Jason thinks she came back to restart their relationship, but Nicole reveals she's engaged to another man. Oh well. Nothing sooths a broken heart like a spot of surfing.
